Art Method
MUSIC
1. Create a playlist
2. Write a song or music composition
3. Choose a song that represents the prompt (and explain how)
VISUAL ART
4. Make a painting (abstract or realistic!)
5. Make a drawing (abstract or realistic!)
6. Make a collage
7. Draw a comic or manga
8. Make a sculpture out of only pieces of paper
9. Make a sculpture out of random stuff you found in your room
10. Make a sculpture out of any art supplies you have (but don’t use that art supply for its originally intended purpose...i.e. a pencil becomes a sculpture, etc.!)
11. Make a colorscape (use only colors and shapes to represent the prompt)
12. Make a portrait of yourself or another person inspired by the prompt
13. Fingerpaint the prompt
14. Invent a new font inspired by the prompt
15. Create a board game and design pieces inspired by the prompt
WRITING/ POETRY
16. Write a freestyle poem
17. Write a haiku
18. Write a nonfiction reflection
19. Journal non-stop for 30 minutes without editing yourself
20. Write a short fiction story
21. Write a long fiction story
22. Write a 6-word story (literally, only use 6 words for the whole thing!)
23. Describe a meal inspired by the prompt. Choose ingredients, spices and flavors, and don’t forget the salt!
MULTIMEDIA
24. Make a meme
25. Make a website
26. Build your response to the prompt in Minecraft/The Sims/Garry’s Mod/the sandbox of your choice
MOVEMENT/ DANCE
27. Create a single physical movement inspired by the prompt
28. Choreograph 3 physical movements that become a dance
29. Create a single physical movement inspired by the prompt, then teach it to a friend or family member (either who ives with you in your apartment OR via FaceTime) and do the dance together!
30. Invent a virtual handshake inspired by the prompt and teach it to someone virtually (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.)
31. Pantomime (act out silently) your answer to the prompt
VIDEO/ THEATRE
32. Curate a thoughtful list of movies or YouTube clips/videos that represent the prompt
33. Make a video of yourself responding to the prompt
34. Make a video of yourself responding to the prompt, but use only your voice and an object in your home (is that teddy bear talking?!)
35. Make a video of yourself acting like a character (specific person from a movie i.e. Wolverine, or a stereotype/stock character like the mean girl or the jock) responding to the prompt
36. Improvise a short monologue (a speech for one character) inspired by the prompt and deliver it to camera
37. Stage and perform a short scene with family, pets, or furniture as characters. Record it to share!
